Paula Dorf 2+1 for brows ($26) contains 2 brow powders and a wax. I’ve seen this brand around places like Marshall’s and TJMaxx, but I honestly didn’t know much about it. Here’s some info about the brand:
After working on our unparalleled brush collection, Paula Dorf Cosmetics created a high quality, long-wearing, easy to use color cosmetic line that is designed for every woman. Our makeup philosophy is to empower women and is captured best in our signature phrase: Become your own makeup artist®. Seen in the latest issues of In Style, Allure, Harper’s Bazaar and Elle and on celebrities including Jessica Simpson, Sandra Bullock, Debra Messing and Reneé Zellweger, Paula’s products are constantly embraced as industry favorites.
My shade is brunette. The colors are an okay match for my brows; slightly warm, but nothing I can’t work with.
The powder adds a little bit of volume to the brows. It isn’t like the Anastasia brow powder, which is drier and more stiff. This almost seems like it has little fibers in it- I can’t get them to show up on camera, but it is a little “crumbly” on the brush. I am also not a fan of the packaging. I don’t think it really reflects the actual quality of the product.
The real gem in this kit is the wax. This wax does not BUDGE. It truly holds brows in place all day, which is major for me, since my brows are pretty long. I also like how the wax makes the brows look more polished.
The powders are richly pigmented, but not so much so that they are impossible to work with. There is definitely such a thing as being TOO pigmented.
The brush is sold separately on the Paula Dorf website ($24). It does the job, but the bristles are stiff and the brush is so lightweight that it almost feels cheap. There are definitely brow brushes out there for less and of better quality.
You can find this brow kit here (not an affiliate link). You can also get a free brow brush with purchase using the code BROWBRUSH.
