I was sent the KISS InstaWave Automatic Curler for review in collaboration with Brandbacker. I have a curling iron that I’ve had since elementary school, meaning it is over 20 years old. It is the best curling iron I’ve ever owned, so I hang onto it! Others have come and gone, but yet it remains, so you can see why I was excited to try this automatic wand from KISS- to see if it can compete with my very old one.
This wand has a lot of great attributes in the description:
- Easy for anyone to use, from any angle, with any hand
- Features a Curl Dial with left/right curl directions
- Automatically shuts off after 90 minutes
- 2 heat settings with a low/high switch with maximum temperature of 420
I’ve never had a curling wand that turns off automatically, and that is one of my favorite features. I am always stressed about leaving curling irons on, even when I KNOW they are off. Knowing that this one shuts off (and it does- I tested it out) gives me a sense of comfort.
It is really easy to use; ridiculously easy!
All I did was hold the wand up to my hair, and press the button. My hair caught in the rake and wrapped around the wand. Although it is easy to use, it does have a slight learning curve, since the wand itself is pretty big.
Here it is compared to the size of my head! That said, the gadget is pretty lightweight. My favorite feature besides the automatic turn off is that you can curl both ways. If you get your hair stuck in the wand, it is really easy to get out- just press the button to head in the opposite direction.
I like this wand for creating really loose curls. I’ve always had a hard time getting the right size. Curls always start out too tight, but then if I brush them to get them to be loose, my hair always ends up laying flat.
This is a great curling wand for hair curling “dummies” (totally include myself in that), or for someone who is getting their first curling iron.
You can learn more about this wand at their website (not an affiliate link).
