It was an interesting thing, trying to decide what my favorite Ipsy items were this year. Although there were things that stuck out to me, I decided to go through all of my blog posts and revisit what I received this year. In looking at the cost compared to my favorite products, it dawned on me that I am not really getting my money’s worth. Sure, there are fun things that I like here and there, and it’s fun getting the bag in the mail each month, but I don’t totally love what I am getting, and in the last four months there has been a serious decline. I even re-took the Ipsy quiz a few times and I’m still getting things that I have no interest in, like hairspray.
That said, a couple of my favorites are not in the photo because I used them up already. I also included a couple of my favorite bags! 🙂 Here are my favorites from the year:
Avene Thermal Spring Water (not pictured)– This was probably my favorite discovery through Ipsy this year. I love this and want to buy the full size.
Marc Anthony Beach Waves Spray– Mmmm…this smells so good and leaves my hair soft. There’s only a few uses left in this bottle.
Zoya nail polish in Dot– This white pink is right up my alley!
City Color blush in Fresh Melon– A close second to the thermal water, this vibrant coral is just lovely!
Crown Brush C476 Dual Sided brush– I really like this brush. The quality is great and it blends nicely.
Starlooks Lip Gloss in Guilty- Funnily enough, a Starlooks item also made it into my Ipsy favorites. This is just a nice medium pink gloss.
Bare Minerals 5 in 1 BB Cream Eyeshadow in Barely Nude– This is a great lid primer. Full review here.
Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant (not pictured)– I reviewed this last December. It’s a great scrub, but I have since used up my little sample.
There are other Ipsy items that I like just fine, but I am just not head over heels in love with the majority of what I am getting each month, which is a disappointment. I have since cancelled my Ipsy subscription, at least for the time being. I’m sure this won’t be the last time I give this service a chance, but for now I need a break, because I’m not getting enough use out of it.
