Let’s start this post with this: I am not a dry shampoo person. I’ve strongly disliked every shampoo I’ve tried, and yes, I have tried Batiste. Every one I have used, I find something wrong with. It either feels too wet, too powdery, doesn’t work-the list goes on!
I received the Amika Dry Shampoo from Birchbox. Since I don’t wash my hair daily, I’ve been putting this little bottle to the test!
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION (From Birchbox)
The lightweight formula contains sweet-smelling obliphica (sea buckthorn berry) oil, which features a laundry list of powerful ingredients: antioxidants, vitamins, healthy fatty acids, omegas 3, 6, and 9, and omega 7 (generally found only in fish oil). Together, they moisturize and strengthen hair, repair split ends, enhance shine, and restore hair’s natural balance. Moreover, unlike many other dry shampoos, which contain aluminum shavings, amika’s version includes natural rice starch instead. It’s even talc-free.
This dry shampoo has 4.5 stars out of 9,763 reviews on Birchbox.com. That’s a lot of people loving this stuff.
I wouldn’t say my hair gets particularly oily when I don’t wash it; at least not in an obvious way, but I definitely notice. I usually plan when I wash my hair around my running schedule. I know that sounds totally ridiculous, but the way I sweat, I just have to!
What I like about this dry shampoo: EVERYTHING. I can’t believe how much I like this stuff. It is actually DRY, doesn’t leave any residue, is lightweight, and it makes my hair look fresher. I don’t get anything lingering after I brush it though my hair. It also smells good, and doesn’t weigh my hair down.
Of course I assumed that since I actually like it, it would cost a ridiculous amount of money, but it’s quite affordable. For $9, you can get one ounce of product, and for $21, you can purchase a five ounce bottle, which is the better deal economically. Still, it’s nice that there’s an affordable “try it” option too.
Verdict: LOVE IT! I would definitely purchase this in the future.
