It’s that time of year when the drugstores are bursting at the seams with new products. I decided to try one of the new Fergie Velvet Matte lip pencils in the shade Kreamsicle Kitty (REALLY hate that name). The color is a beautiful pale coral shade.
For $3.49, these pencils are really pigmented.
Unfortunately, my pencil had some issues. The product was not in the tube when I opened it, but rather stuck inside of the cap. I had to shake it to get it out, and now it falls out all the time. I know I’m not the only one this happened to, since I watched a YouTube review where the same thing happened.
Warning: disgusting looking lip swatch ahead! 😦
So…yeah. Where do I begin with this pencil? There are many cons to this lip pencil:
- Settles into lip lines
- Accentuates dry patches
- Doesn’t apply evenly
- Seems to “move” on the lips and migrate
I would go so far as to say this product is terrible; not even worth the small price tag. The consistency is thin and lightweight, and I didn’t find it drying, but it does move around a lot. It is so slippery that it seems to move south on the lips. A lip liner might help, but doesn’t that defeat the purpose of this pencil?
The verdict: LEAVE IT! This product definitely did not work for me and I’m annoyed that I basically threw a few dollars in the trash!
Have you tried these lip pencils yet? Any thoughts?
