ColourPop Empire Eyeshadow is described as “Fiercely rich emerald green, just like the city!”. As a Wizard of Oz fanatic, I knew this one had to be mine. Plus, I just love green shadow. 🙂 The color is a lot darker and richer than seen on the website, which the reviews do make note of, so I was expecting it.
This has the same interesting bouncy feel as the other shades in the line. I actually find these easiest to apply with a foam applicator compared to a brush. I’m pretty sure ColourPop recommends using your fingers. With a brush, it isn’t the smoothest, unless you use something flat, like the MAC 242.
This color definitely pops when you wear it, and it does not budge. I used Urban Decay Sin primer and it stayed on for over 12 hours, plus it was still just as vibrant and did not crease at all. Although I paired it with neutrals here, this could be used to create some really colorful and amazing looks.
So far, I am a huge fan of the ColourPop shadows and love how long they stay on and the huge array of colors they come in. It seems like the line is expanding all the time, too (dangerous!). While there is a learning curve due to the unique texture, don’t let that scare you! 🙂 These are fantastic for eyeshadow junkies like myself. 😉
