NYX Eyebrow Gel VS. Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow

nyx

I really wanted to try out the new NYX Tame & Frame for brows, but when I went to get it, every color was out of stock. They did have some of the brow gels left, including one in my color, so I decided to try this instead. My shade is Brunette. Being a huge fan of MUFE Aqua Brow, and on the last legs of my precious tube of it, I decided to compare them!

Left, MUFE- Right, NYX

The colors are fairly similar, but the NYX one is a little warmer. On my brows, I do prefer the color of the MUFE product. NYX does have other shades though, so something else might be a better color match for me.

The biggest difference in these two products is that the NYX Eyebrow Gel is a more fluid, runny consistency. Because of that, it is a little harder to control with application. I will say this about the NYX Gel: it wears like IRON. This stuff does not budge. If you’re looking for bulletproof brows, the NYX brow gel does the job. It keeps hairs in place and they will not budge.

Both products are highly pigmented and long-lasting. I think the NYX gel might last a little better than the MUFE one does.

The NYX gel is $7 and the MUFE gel is $20, so the price difference is pretty large, but not astronomical.

Personally, I prefer the MUFE Aqua Brow over the NYX just because it is a little easier to work with, but the NYX product is a great budget pick if you don’t mind being patient with it. I didn’t find it a “slap on and go” product at all, but if you have some time to do your makeup, it will look great.

Have you tried any of the new NYX brow products yet? Did you like them?

Love the hi-lo comparison. I am on the lookout for MUFE Aqua Brow alternatives, so this really helps. There’s a Philippine brand that came up with something similar, but the price is kind of steep that it begs me to just get MUFE instead. At least there’s a huge gap between the prices of Nyx and MUFE.
