Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray Review!

surfspray*Purchased by me

It’s that beach waves time of year! Well, if you’ve been reading here awhile, you know I have naturally wavy hair, so it is usually beach waves time for me! The Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray is one of those cult classic hair products that I have been wanting to try on my own tresses.

This spray is designed to add volume and texture to your hair, and you can use it on “damp” hair and dry hair. I’ve been trying not to dry my hair when I wash it, and I will say that this isn’t great if you put it on when your hair is wet. Don’t do it! 🙂 My hair takes hours to dry on its own, so I have to wait awhile to use it on “damp” hair.

My personal preference is to use it on dry hair. If I let my hair air dry it waves, and then I get added volume with the Surf Spray. It doesn’t have a strong scent at all; a bit salty out of the bottle, but it doesn’t add any fragrance to my hair.

It doesn’t make my hair feel crusty or dry, which I have experienced with some sea salt sprays in the past! While I like this surf spray, it isn’t so amazing that I will be hopelessly devoted to it. That said, I would probably repurchase it if I couldn’t find something else that I liked. I actually just ordered another sea salt spray for my hair, and will probably be reviewing that one soon and comparing it to Bumble and Bumble.

I have tried to make my own sea salt spray before, but I didn’t like how it turned out.

Do you have any favorite wavy hair products?

I’ve never tried this one, though I want to. I’ve tried two other brands and I wasn’t Fons of the way they made my hair feel both dry and tangly. I’m curious to see what other one you try out and how it compares.

Have you tried Not Your Mother’s? That one made my hair really hard! This one comes out in a fine mist, so it isn’t as thick.

You know what, this week I’ve been using a sample of Parlours wave spray and I like it so much more than the others I’ve tried. I got a sample in my Birchbox so when it’s gone I’ll then decide if I will repurchase or not.
