ELF Mad for Matte Review & Swatches!

matte*Purchased by me

Hello! I’m back from vacation! Last week I was out of town, spending a week at the lake. It felt great to get back to nature and away from things for a bit, but now I’m home and back into the swing of things. The ELF Mad for Matte palette is one that I actually got just before I left for my trip. I don’t typically use drugstore eyeshadows since I find them to be terrible most of the time, but I was curious about this palette. This palette is $10, but I got it on sale for $5 on the ELF website.

Unfortunately, my order was not packed very well and one of the shadows was broken. ELF kindly sent me a new one (which was not broken) and also gave me a $5 gift card toward my next purchase, which I thought was very generous!

The colors range from warm to cool neutrals. I am actually pleasantly surprised at how pigmented these shadows are. The lightest two shades are kind of chalky, but the browns in the middle make this palette worth it.

Swatches, no primer

When I wear a primer, I don’t have a problem with fading during the day. This is appreciated because I was not happy when the Maybelline The Nudes palette faded so quickly, even with a primer.

Overall, I really like this palette and think it is worth the $10 price tag, especially if you’re looking for a matte palette.
