Butter London Shadow Clutch Review!

BL*Press sample

Awhile back in a FOTD post, I mentioned wearing shadows from the Butter London Shadow Clutch ($39). Now that I’ve spent some time with this amazing little palette, I am ready to review!

The idea behind this clutch is that you can pop open a little lid, and change the shadows out as you like, by purchasing ‘Wardrobe Duos’ ($15). The Wardrobe Duos contain complementary shades, but they are in more bold and unique colors.

BL2The Natural Charm palette contains wearable neutrals with a beautiful pop of green. I traveled with this palette and was able to create several looks with it. Plus, the palette is nice and sturdy, so it didn’t get ruined in my makeup bag.

BL3It really is clutch sized!

BL5Inside, there is a little lid that pops open, so you can slide out shadows, and put the Wardrobe Duos in if you so desire. I think this is really clever!

BL6There’s also a nice brush in the palette that DOES work and blends well.

BL4I love the colors in this palette, as they can be natural, but also smoky and dramatic if you build them up. I brought this on a weekend trip and it was just enough for a little bit of color. Plus, the Wardrobe Duos have more dramatic shades, so if you do want something more bold, you can customize it.

Another big perk to the Wardrobe Duos is that they are $15 for two shadows, so you can try the formula out before investing in the larger palette. The shadows are soft and have some fallout upon application if you put too much on your brush. The application is stunning. They are SO smooth! They just glide right onto the lid. I haven’t tried them without primer, but with primer they wear all day (10+ hours on me) without fading.

I’m so glad Butter London has been expanding their line. I have been a fan since the beginning when they were only nail polish and just starting to break into lip gloss. The makeup is a great addition to this fun brand. 🙂
