Hello! I hope you had a lovely holiday season and are enjoying some relaxing days. I feel like these days are just flying by as they always do. Currently, I’m gearing up for a big ice storm that is supposed to hit, so I’m trying to get a few things accomplished while we still have power!
Anyway, today I have a Makeup Geek Duochrome Pigment to share in the shade Chameleon. It is a teal base with gold reflects, which looks more navy blue in the jar, at least when you open it.
Currently, all of the Duochrome Pigments are out of stock, but I have found that Makeup Geek is pretty good about letting people know when things are are back in stock, or when they are coming back. Following them on social media is a good way to stay in the loop on this, of course. 🙂
I was a little surprised by the texture of these pigments. They don’t feel very soft to the touch, but they are very easy to smooth out. Like any pigment, it is easy to get it all over the place during application. They are very pigmented dry, but I like to spritz a little Fix+ or setting spray on my brush first for a more intense application. This also helps to prevent a lot of fallout.
If you like mermaid colors, I think you will most likely love Chameleon! I have to admit that when it first arrived and I saw it in the jar, I was a little disappointed; however, on the lid and in swatches, its true beauty really shines.
I would purchase more of these in the future as I really like Chameleon. One downside that I have found in Makeup Geek pigments are the packaging. My jar broke a little on the side, so I have to be careful while closing it and storing it now. Perhaps it is a user error, but I think it is worth noting.
Have you tried any of the duochromes before? What color is your favorite?
