Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water Review!

primerwater*Purchased by me

For a short while, everyone on YouTube seemed to be raving about this Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water. Naturally, I was curious to see how it performed, but didn’t want to spend $32 on a bottle of water before knowing how it worked. I tried to purchase the smaller size at Sephora, but it was sold out. Finally, I came across a primer duo at Ulta with this and the regular Photo Finish Primer that people know and love, so it was the perfect time to give it a whirl!

This is described as “a makeup primer spray that hydrates and revitalizes skin.” Although I was skeptical about this product, I have come to find that I have a major case of LOVE for this stuff. I spray it on my face before foundation, dab my foundation on, and smooth it out with a brush. I love how smoothly my makeup goes on when I use this primer water. I’m not really a huge primer person to begin with because I don’t like layers upon layers on my face, so this is truly the perfect primer medium for me.

I also LOVE how my makeup looks when I use this! It looks more natural and glowy, like healthy skin.

I’m almost done with my little deluxe sample size of this, and I am seriously sad about it! I did purchase the NYX Primer Water to test out and see if it works as well as this does. I’m hoping it does, because it would be nice to pay $8 as opposed to $32 for the full-size Smashbox primer. That said, I would absolutely shell out the money for the full-sized product if I don’t like the NYX version of it.

Have you tried this? Is it a hit or a miss? I would love to know your thoughts, especially since there is so much hype surrounding this product!
