I have a new foundation to talk about today, at least new to me, since this has been out for awhile. I dug into my stash and found a few samples of the Clinique Beyond Perfecting Foundation + Concealer. I had two shades, both of which were too dark. I was able to make the lighter of the two work enough to give it a try, and I liked it so much that I purchased a full-size bottle ($27).
The bottle is basically like a giant bottle of concealer, since it has a doe foot applicator. I don’t mind this application, because I only wear foundation after freshly washing my face. Not only that, I like not having to get foundation all over my fingers.
This lightweight, moisturizing foundation and concealer provides full coverage without clogging pores. This 12-hour wear, breathable formula is ideal for very dry to combination oily skin types, its special polymer formula forms a flexible film that moves with the skin for lasting wear, and it dries slowly for easy blending. Get lasting coverage and give skin a perfected look that stays put, even through sweat and humidity.
This foundation also claims that it takes just one dip of the wand to cover your entire face. It also states that it may seem darker upon application, but lighten up after blending and drying. I appreciate that Clinique makes that statement, because a lot of people would be turned away by that first impression.
There are a lot of things I like about this foundation. For one, it doesn’t have a strong scent. It also stays on my face when I don’t set it with a powder. It isn’t greasy, but instead has a slight sheen that looks like skin and not caked on makeup. It is more than enough coverage for me, and I don’t need concealer with it. The coverage is also very buildable.
I also found that the 12-hour claim was true. No, it didn’t look as fresh as it did in the morning hours, but it was definitely still there.
I ended up getting the shade 6.5 Buttermilk. I’m really happy with this foundation and love how it makes my skin look!
