Milk Makeup Holographic Stick Review

M1*Purchased by me

More Milk Makeup today! A holographic stick? What? I CAN BE A UNICORN? Basically that’s what went through my head when I saw this little beauty on Sephora’s website. This is a really unique highlighter that is holographic with a lavender sheen.

This multi-use stick provides a prismatic glow for an out of this world, holographic effect. It’s loaded with meteorite powder and twilight pearls that create a prismatic finish. Swipe this highlighter on any skintone and wherever you want to create a prismatic look.

m2I have been experimenting with this stick for a couple of weeks now and am happy to say that I really love it! There are a few tricks to using it though. First, I recommend applying with fingers rather than a brush or with the stick. By using your fingers, the product blends more easily and evenly, and looks very smooth as compared to patchy and heavy (which can happen when applying directly from the stick). I have used it with and without foundation as well.

This product does contain oils, so if you have very oily skin, this may not last long for you, or it may not work on your skin. My skin is fairly normal, so I didn’t find any issues with it.

Another important thing to note is that this is a true cream product–it does not dry down to a powder. I’ve been able to use this over and under other highlighters, and I just love the effect. Be careful not to go overboard though, because you may end up with a big lavender stripe on your face!

M3I tried to get a photo that captured the beauty of this holographic stick, but it was really difficult.

If you prefer very natural makeup looks, I wouldn’t recommend this highlighter. If you’re someone who likes to experiment with makeup and different colors, this might be up your alley. I also recommend reading reviews on Sephora, as that may give you an idea of if it’s your type of makeup or not.

So far, I have been loving it! Have you tried anything from the Milk brand?
