I have another Boxycharm item to share today, that being the Studio Makeup On-the-Go Eyeshadow Palette. This was in the September box, and I am always excited to try out a new eyeshadow palette. We have actually received eyeshadow quite frequently in Boxycharm, and since that is my favorite makeup item, I remain a happy camper!
This palette retails for $49.95 (Boxycharm is $21 per month), and is made in the USA. Personally, I find the price point a little high for what it is; $25-$35 is a more realistic price for the quality (which IS good).
The palette is a mix of matte, satin, shimmer, and one metallic shade. The copper metallic shade in the middle is my favorite color in the palette, and the best quality of the bunch. That said, the mattes are really soft, especially the lighter ones. I also like the brown satin shade on the left of the bottom row. This makes an easy lid shade when I don’t want to think very much about my makeup.
I do think this is a great “on-the-go” palette, but my gripe with that concept is that there is no mirror in it. The palette is sturdy and not too heavy, but for traveling it definitely needs that mirror to complete the idea of it being a great palette for someone who is always moving.
The quality is very good; I use this palette with a primer and it lasts for 10+ hours without a problem. I experience little fallout when I use this, and the shadows are very easy to apply and blend. I brought this traveling with me a couple times already, and think it is the perfect base of neutrals to complement bright colors, especially if I am bringing some singles with me.
Overall, I was surprised at how much I love this little guy! Based on this product, I would like to try other items from the Studio Makeup brand.
