Morphe 35T Palette Review

morphe1*purchased by me

Morphe: You’ve probably heard the name and all of the hype behind this brand. I actually bought this palette last year on Hautelook because I thought the color scheme was really beautiful. I did not have any expectations regarding the palette regarding internet hype; I simply wanted to see for myself what the shadows were like.

The color scheme here is mostly taupes, berry colors, and is a mixture of mattes and shimmers. The shimmer shades perform better, but the matte shades are decent. The shadows also last all day with a primer.

My palette did arrive with two shadows that fell out, so I had to glue those back in. The largest downfall of this palette is the smell. I have a hard time getting past this; it smells so strongly of chemicals that it makes me hesitant to wear them on my eyes. I am a user of Coastal Scents and understand that the brand is similar to Morphe; however, when I open up my Z-palettes with my CS hot pots, they don’t smell like this.

I think this palette (and other Morphe palettes) are good for those who:

  • Want to gather a lot of colors quickly and affordably
  • Are trying to create a beginner makeup artist kit affordably
  • Don’t care where their shadows are made
  • Don’t mind the smell

I think the 35T palette is really beautiful and has a lot of nice colors, but I can’t get past the scent. I definitely will not be purchasing more of these palettes in the future and would rather spend the money on something of higher quality.

I really appreciate this review – I’ve been so tempted to try Morphe shadows since they look beautiful but I wouldn’t want something that smells weird near my eyes.

I’m glad it was helpful! Really disappointing that they are pretty and work well, but I can’t get past that smell. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
