Don’t mind the chunks of snow in the photo above–they just happened to blow into the photo! At this time of year it’s difficult to avoid, and with a windchill of -3 I didn’t feel like staying outside to reshoot. 😉 Anyway, these products from The Body Shop arrived on my doorstep and I was completely stunned, but excited to try them out! I have been able to thoroughly test each one and have a few thoughts on them.
Also, many thanks to The Body Shop for sending these! This was my first time trying any of the makeup products from the brand, despite being a user of their face and body care items for many years.
Let’s start with the eyeshadow palettes: I love these! I’m an eyeshadow junkie, so of course I had to dig into these first. I’ve worn both palettes several times and I am very impressed by the quality. They are easy to blend and very pigmented, plus they last all day with a primer and do not fade.
You can pop out the pans to customize your quad as well; this also makes for easy depotting. Each palette retails for $24 a piece, and they are cruelty-free. I think this is a very fair price for the quality. You can also use these shadows wet for more intensity, but I personally haven’t used them like that just yet.
Honolulu Pink is a matte lipstick ($12.50) with a comfortable to wear formula. I have the driest lips on the planet and this is still very comfortable to wear even if I don’t wear lip balm underneath.
The Eye Colour Stick in Nevada Gold ($15) reminds me of MAC’s Mooncake Paint Pot, which was LE from a few years back. I LOVE this color stick! I use it as a base, or all over the lid and brow bone if I’m going for a light look. It stays on all day and makes a nice primer, too. The color is so pretty, and it has amazing sparkle!
Honey Bronze Drops of Sun Holiday Glow Creator ($20, limited edition) is a tinted gel designed to add a little color to your skin. In the photo, I blended it out on the right. I LOVE this stuff! My skin is miserably dry right now, so I add a few drops of this to my foundation and it glides on nicely. Plus, it gives me a tiny amount of color without making me look orange. Simply put, it just makes my skin look healthier, which is so needed in these below zero temps.
