I haven’t purchased anything from Too Faced since the Chocolate Bon Bons palette was released in 2015. The hype is so crazy around all of the peach items from Too Faced, and I didn’t break my neck trying to buy anything; however, I did pick up the Sweet Peach Glow palette since it was still available and I was interested.
Let’s get the big disappointment out of the way: The lid doesn’t stay on the palette. When I received mine, the pin that holds the lids together wasn’t connected properly and it fell out. I couldn’t get it back in, so I have been using it very carefully and keeping a hair tie around it so it doesn’t open up. This seems to be a manufacturing issue, as I’ve seen others with the same issue. For a $42 palette, that shouldn’t be happening.
The palette contains three items: a blush, bronzer, and highlighter. Unfortunately, because of how light each shade is, those with deeper skin tones may not be able to get much use out of the blush and bronzer. If you’re very fair, this might be the palette you have been waiting for.
This product is not going to wow you in the pigmentation department. It truly is a product that creates “glow”: it is light and soft, and no way can you achieve any sort of clown makeup here! 🙂
That said, I really like this little palette!
It isn’t dramatic, but if glow is what you want, that’s what you can achieve. Just before the holidays I was really sick and sooooo pale, and this palette is what I used to make sure I didn’t look half dead. It achieved exactly what I needed.
If you want a natural look, you might like this. If you need a more in-your-face-look-at-me makeup look, this will not do it for you.
Yes, it does smell like peaches, but it doesn’t linger if you’re sensitive to scents.
While I like this palette, I do think it is overpriced and over-hyped, especially since I received one that it is defective (it wasn’t worth exchanging because I ordered it online). If you’re thinking about it, try checking it out in person, because so far the reviews are hit and miss. I probably would not repurchase, but I will enjoy using it for now. 🙂
