Trying Out Luxury Eyeshadows: Cle de Peau and Tom Ford

I recently tried two luxury eyeshadows, the Tom Ford Cream Color for Eyes in Caviar, and Cle de Peau Beaute Powder Eye Color in the shade 203. Both of these are samples from So Choix (not an affiliate link). So Choix promises two to three uses from each of their samples; however, in most cases I have been able to get more uses than that! I was excited to try both of these products since I have heard so many people rave about the Tom Ford Cream Color.

The Cle de Peau shadow (full size $45) is a stain finish, and the shades are:

“Inspired by vintage jewels, a luxuriously smooth powder eyeshadow accentuates eyes with brilliant, sumptuous color.”

I adore that beautiful description, and definitely see the inspiration in this color. This is one of the most beautiful eyeshadow formulas I have ever had the pleasure of using. It is pigmented, but the most endearing quality is how positively silky and long lasting it is. This applies like a dream; it is truly foolproof! I also found the color unique and vibrant. Another perk is that this didn’t irritate my eyes at all, or get into my eyes while I was wearing it throughout the day (I wear contacts and can be sensitive to that).

Cle de Peau 203, Tom Ford Caviar

Tom Ford Cream Color for Eyes in Caviar is a beautiful deep smoky charcoal with silver shimmer particles. When I first applied this color, I thought there was no way I would want to wear it again, but once I had it fully on and smoked out as a base, I really liked it! I am really impressed with how long it stayed on; I didn’t use a primer with it since I was using this as a base, and it still looked freshly applied when I removed it in the evening (I had been wearing it around 12 hours).

Caviar is a gorgeous color, and I now want to test out other shades. If I were to purchase the full size ($45), I don’t think I would get this color, because I don’t see myself using up a whole pot. Instead, I would probably get a color I could see myself using a lot more (like bronze or taupe).

I wore both of these together and loved the result! It really made the green in my eyes pop.

Overall, I loved both products and want to test out more colors before purchasing the full-size product. 🙂
