A trip to my closet is never boring. I have often daydreamed about being one of those people who wears a chic, fashionable wardrobe constructed of gray, black, and white, but honestly that is SO not me (obviously, as evidenced in this post). I like bright colors, bold prints, pattern mixing, and chunky costume jewelry. I also don’t pay attention to trends and wear whatever I want to wear. 😀
The Hour by Flower A-Line Dress (not an affiliate link) is a vintage-inspired dress that I purchased from ModCloth earlier this spring. This is basically a PERFECT dress for me. I love the cut, the length, and the print. The pattern is not for the faint of heart; it is as bright in person as it looks online. You can tone it down with a black cardigan, but I wore it with another Modcloth buy, the Dream of the Crop cardigan in Honey.
This dress has a sash at the waist and it even has pockets, if that’s your think. It hasn’t faded yet (I don’t put it in the dryer), which is a perk, because I can’t stand when fabrics fade after one or two washes.
One thing to note about this dress is that it does run a little large in the bust, and I’m saying that from the perspective of someone who buys everything to fit that particular area. I probably could have sized down, but at the same time I don’t think that it’s super obvious that it is a little big thanks to the sash.
I absolutely LOVE this dress and it has become a fast favorite!
